| EEO-1 Report Filing Deadline is September 30, 2008
Covered employers are annually required to file an Employer Information Report EEO-1, otherwise known as the EEO-1 Report, with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC) EEO-1 Joint Reporting Committee.
The filing deadline for the 2008 EEO-1 Report is September 30, 2008.
The EEOC and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) have used the EEO-1 Report since 1966 to collect annual data from covered private employers (100 or more employees) and federal contractors (50 or more employees) about their minority and female workforce, including both part-time and full-time workers but excluding casual and temporary workers.
You can complete this report electronically by logging in to the EEOC website at www.eeoc.gov , and select the EEO-1 survey link.
REVISED I-9 FORM RELEASED
On November 7, 2007 the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a revised Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) and M-274 (Handbook for Employers, Instructions for Completing the Form I-9). This version of the form - which has a revision date of June 5, 2007 - is the only one that is valid for use.
Employers must use this form for any employees hired on or after November 7, 2007, although there is a 30-day transition period in which the government will not seek penalties against an employer that uses an older version of the form. New forms do not have to be completed for existing employees.
